The focus belt can make or break a Pokémon’s success or failure. Here’s how to get the item in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson and who to give it to.

Focus Girdle has long been one of the most important wearables in Pokémon, and that hasn’t changed in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson. The item remains vital to a number of powerful Pokémon, opening up daring strategies that aren’t otherwise possible.

While many different wearables increase offensive power, Focus Girdle is arguably the most powerful defensive wearable in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson. The item makes it impossible to be KO’d in one hit. For strong Pokémon that need to be able to survive, and others that rely on power-up moves like Sword Dance, Focus Girdle is often the wearable item of choice.

There are certainly counters to Focus Strap, especially moves like Famiep’s Mice Plague that hit an opponent multiple times. Still, if you’re serious about combat, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on this item.

Location of Focus Girdle in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson

In Pokémon Crimson and Crimson, amn can obtain Focus Girdle in two different ways. The easiest way is to simply purchase the item from the Boto Gift Shop in Mesalona City. There are multiple locations, but Mesalona City is the only location that offers the item.

Focus Strap costs $50,000 and you can buy as many as you want. However, the item is not available at the beginning of the game as you must complete a certain number of story objectives for the item to be available for sale.

The other option is to visit Puerto Marinedo, where you can also compete against the gym leader Kombu. A Pokémon League representative will offer the item for free to anyone who defeats four nearby trainers. This takes a bit of time and energy, but you get the item for free, plus you get money and experience from defeating trainers.

Which Pokemon Should Wear the Focus Strap?

Grass-type Maskagato, the new Electric Fighting-type Pokemon Pamomamo, and the well-known Kramurx are all among the best users of Focus Girdle in Pokemon Crimson and Crimson. However, the item is used very differently in single and double battles.

In single play, Pokemon like Austos can make great use of the Focus Belt, using it to safely gain stat boosts with House Smash. This guarantees that you get at least a strong speed and attack boost followed by Ice Shards. Austos can sweep away an enemy team very easily with enough boosts, and Focus Girdle helps with that. Other Pokemon like Pamomamo fall into the same category, as it allows the Pokemon to use Vital Blessing and follow it up with an almost guaranteed Speed Slash.

In double combat, things are a little different. Sandstorm is much more common, and there are now two enemies that may have Quick Attack Slash, Turbo Speed, or another priority action that can slow down the Focus Strap user. Still, the item is very useful for protecting offensive-oriented Pokemon like Maskagato and tramp supports like Kramurx.
