Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising Announced

CyGames has announced a new installment of the popular Granblue saga.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising will be published this year and will have versions for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, the latter through Steam.

The developer is once again Arc System Works (a very reliable studio, known for its work on Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball FighterZ or BlazBlue) and a spin-off in the form of a fighting game from the popular Japanese role-playing game franchise Granblue Fantasy.

Versus Rising will include new playable characters and settings, as well as a new story mode that covers all the chapters of Granblue Fantasy Versus. The developers have also confirmed that the game will include rollback netcode technology at launch to make combat more fluid and reliable, as well as cross-play between all platforms.

But perhaps the most curious thing is the inclusion of a new online lobby and different multiplayer party games that seem clearly inspired by Fall Guys. Grand Bruise Legends is described, according to the first official communication, as a “battle royales mode” with a multitude of mini-games.
